Move your life from your mobile phone to your PC and back with Shifd. Although still in development, Shifd won best hack at last year's London Hack Day. The demo video shows the developers using an RFID chip to synchronize a personal web portal between their mobile phone and their laptop computer. The Shifd app looks like it will be able to store tasks, contacts, events, newsfeeds, and probably a lot more. At the Shifd website, you can view the demo video and sign up to be notified once they go live. The developers mention a non-RFID version in the works as well. (Link: Shifd)

Now you can listen to Wikipedia on your mp3 player. Pediaphon is a free service by Andreas Bischoff, which generates MP3 audio files from Wikipedia articles by speech synthesis. The service is operated at the University of Hagen, Germany. These files can be played immediately in the web browser or be downloaded for later use in a mp3 player.
