Motionbox adds Deep Tagging to Videos

"Motionbox, the personal video sharing service today added Deep Tagging, giving consumers the ability to tag selected portions inside of a video, jump to the best parts, and instantly share them with others.

Motionbox’s Deep Tagging feature lets you intuitively mark specific moments inside a video and add descriptive keywords that apply just to those selected portions, which are then searchable throughout Motionbox’s video network.

“Everyone knows the experience of trying to watch a video and having to slog through a bunch of stuff you really aren’t interested in, in order to get to the highlights—whether it’s your vacation videos, a ballgame or a speech—now you can point people directly to the best parts of the video, as easily as sending them an email,” said Chris O’Brien, Motionbox’s CEO & co-founder.

“Deep Tagging is a continuation of Motionbox’s mission to make video watching and sharing easy for all by letting users get to the good stuff,” said O’Brien.  “It cuts through the noise and hassle of getting to the video you want to see and share.  Motionbox’s Deep Tagging not only changes the way you look at video, we think it will change the way you think, talk and blog about video.”

In coming weeks, Motionbox will release its embeddable player, allowing bloggers and publishers to embed highlighted and tagged sequences of video into individual web pages.

Key features include:

Motionbox Player:  Select any portion of a video to share with friends and family.  Simply click and drag your mouse over the filmstrip below the video player.

Deep Tagging:  Add descriptive keywords to label different portions of a video, to make specific moments within a video searchable and shareable.

Video Selections:  Highlight and play a selection of your video and link to it from your blog or website.

Video upload by email or cell phone:  Use your personal Motionbox email address to post videos to the site instantly from your email account or cell phone.

Sharing options: Share videos privately with friends and family, or share them with the world.

Easy interface:  Motionbox accepts all standard video file formats, and seamlessly encodes videos into Flash, making uploading videos simple for everyone.

These Motionbox capabilities above are just the beginning.  Motionbox’s #1 mission is to keep coming up with easier and better ways for you to make the most of what you’ve shot.
