NetSquared Year Two
NetSquared is doing its conference again this year in May.
"NetSquared Year Two (N2Y2) isn’t a gathering of talking heads: it’s a roll-up-your-sleeves, get-your-hands-dirty working session. This year’s conference will focus on accelerating the progress of the 21 Featured Projects. And we’re committed to making sure these 21 projects present to a group that can really help them move forward and succeed by providing essential resources, including money, development skills and time, in-kind contributions, technical support and other forms of organizational support, etc.
21 out of more than 150 projects were chosen in a wisdom of crowds approach and are invited to compete for cash and in-kind support at the conference.
They span several continents, a diverse mix of technologies, and a wide range of issues, from supporting farmers in developing countries to mapping political campaign contributions and helping victims of family violence.
Technologies include:
- Mapping
- Mashups
- Open source internet video
- Online forums
- Blogging
- Web based collaboration tools
- Podcasts
At the event, representatives of the 21 projects will be grilled by VCs, social activists, philanthropists and web2.0 experts, and the 350 conference attendees will vote on the three best projects.
We are currently looking for folks who can bring unique NetSquared related expertise to the conference and help us determine the winners.”
