I noticed this too and it’s pretty neat. A quick gander at the del.icio.us blog (http://blog.del.icio.us/blog/2006/05/post.html) tells me that they automatically show up for bookmarked pages on flickr. I guess the shared Y! umbrella over the two services is starting to show some fun results.

Yeah, but how can be that thumbnail posted on my site/blog as I do with my del.icio.us bookmarks?

Mmmh, this is pretty weird… What if you try to edit it ?

Maybe an incoming feature that somehow got hacked ?

Ah, i got the answer… Try to bookmark an image in flickr. You’ll have the same :p

It makes sense, del.icio.us and flickr are both yahoo.

The image thumbnails are added to bookmarked Flickr pages. (We’re working on adding images for other things too)

They’ve been doing this for awhile, but only for Flickr photos.

Yep, the del.icio.us blog had a post about this a few weeks ago. They’re basically pulling in images if it’s hosted on flickr. It’s a nice addition. I think del.icio.us would also be much better if they could pull in a variety of file types, like image previews for pdfs, word files, movies, etc.

It’s a new feature reported in their blog - flickr links get thumbnails.

Ah, thanks. I didn’t see that in their blog. I’ll be curious to see who starts putting screenshots of apps into Flickr them so the thumbnails appear next to their bookmark :)
